Ambient Cinema doit son existence à un live donné à Nantes (France) à l’occasion de la Guy l’Eclair le 25 juillet 1997 (soirée ambient le 25, techno parade et rave party le 26), aux côtés de Nikollaps, aujourd’hui malheureusement décédé, et du célèbre Scanner (Robin Rimbaud).
L’idée de cette soirée était de créer une bande son ambient sur un film projeté dans une vraie salle de cinéma (L’Apollo, aujourd’hui disparu). Les musiciens devaient sélectionner et préparer leurs images en vue de cette performance. Les images choisies étaient des épisodes de faux documentaires en noir et blanc. Un mois de travail passionnant. A la suite de cette performance, Stéphane du label Ytterbium a pris contact avec Elektroplasma puis a produit ce CD. Ce fut une aventure fabuleuse, et le début d’une grande amitié avec Stéphane, qui dure toujours.
Ambient Cinema owes its existence to a live performance in Nantes (France) during the Guy l’Eclair on July 25, 1997 (ambient evening on the 25th, techno parade and rave party on the 26th), with Nikollaps, unfortunately deceased, and the famous Scanner (Robin Rimbaud).
The idea of this evening was to create an ambient soundtrack on a movie in a real cinema (L’Apollo). The musicians had to choose and prepare their images for this performance. The selected images were episodes of black and white fake documentaries. An exciting month of work. Following this performance, Stéphane from Ytterbium label contacted Elektroplasma and then produced this CD. It was a fabulous adventure, and the beginning of a great friendship with Stéphane.
